What is laparoscopic surgery?

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgery that involves making a few minor incisions in your lower abdomen. A tube called a laparoscope is inserted into the abdomen. It has a camera attached to the end of it, that sends a video feed to a monitor. This allows your surgeon to view inside the body, without causing any major trauma. Some of the benefits of Laprascopy include:

  • Minimal Scarring
  • Less time in the hospital
  • Quicker recovery time
  • Less pain

In order to determine if laparoscopy is the right procedure for you, Dr. Sassoon and his team will review your medical history and complete a physical exam, including a pelvic exam, and obtain imaging if needed.

If he suspects a gynecological condition, he might recommend blood tests, tissue biopsy, imaging procedures, or laparoscopy.

Schedule a laparoscopy consultation with the ALT•HER NYC team by phone or book online today.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces and reshapes the labia minora (inner vaginal lips) and sometimes the labia majora (outer vaginal lips). This functional procedure addresses concerns about size, shape, asymmetry, or discomfort caused by elongated or irregular labial tissue.

Vaginal rejuvenation, vagina tightening sugery, and vaginal reconstruction treatments offer the potential to revitalize your sex life along with addressing issues related to menstruation and bladder control.

Only if necessary. This area is not usually altered during labiaplasty, but may be necessary for women with excessive skin surrounding the clitoris. This can be discussed during the initial consultation.
